When purchasing a new air conditioner or replacing an existing one keep in mind your air conditioner is actually comprised of two pieces: the indoor coil and the outdoor coil and compressor. These matched elements are sold separately, but your overall system will work significantly better when both units are replaced at the same time. Older coils may not be able to keep up with the demands of the newer more efficient compressors.
